WHO WE ARE

A little info about CraftEd and how YOU can be part of the journey

CraftEd, a signature initiative of The Craft Catalyst, operates under The Craft Catalyst’s approval by Kenya’s Commission for University Education (CUE) as a University Agent, helping East African students access world-class education in Malaysia and prepare for success in the global job market.

Our approach is personal, transparent, and boutique — built on genuine conversations in our welcoming, home-based Nairobi office. We guide each student and family with care, ensuring every decision leads to opportunity and growth.

Through our partnership with Winning Magnitude in Malaysia — which has supported over 500 students across Africa — we make every transition seamless, from application to arrival and beyond.

The powerhouse of our operations

The team behind the wheel.

Behind CraftEd is a team that doesn’t just understand the dream of studying abroad — they’ve lived it, built careers around it, and dedicated themselves to making it a reality for students across East Africa.

CraftEd, a signature initiative of The Craft Catalyst, operates under The Craft Catalyst’s approval by Kenya’s Commission for University Education (CUE) as a University Agent, helping East African students access world-class education in Malaysia and prepare for success in the global job market. Chris Otundo is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Craft Catalyst and CraftEd and an alumnus of Limkokwing University in Malaysia – giving him a firsthand understanding of the student journey that sits at the heart of everything that CraftEd does.

A seasoned digital talent management leader, Chris and his team bring together decades of experience across Africa and Europe to guide students not just into universities but into their future. That experience spans some of the most respected organisations in the world. Chris has held senior positions at BrighterMonday Kenya, Mastercard Foundation, Safaricom, General Electric, KPMG, Deloitte and Airbus – a track record that speaks to both the breadth and depth of expertise The Craft Catalyst Team brings to every student pathway.

Chris is also a Certified Executive Coach Practitioner and a former Board Member of The Standard Media Group, bringing strategic leadership and a coaching mindset to the way the team supports students and partners alike.

With CraftEd, students are guided by people who have walked the path themselves – and built careers helping others do the same.

Winning Magnitude - Malaysian Partner

Winning Magnitude(WM) is CraftEd’s strategic parner on the ground in Malaysia, led by Kabilan Muniandy. He is the Managing Director and driving force behind student university placement pathways into the country. Having Winning Magnitude in our corner means our students are not simply sent to Malaysia – they are supported on the other side by a dedicated local team that knows the institutions, processes and people.

This local presence is a real differentiator. From the moment a student arrives, Winning Magnitude ensures continuity of support, bridging the gap between placement and settling in with expertise that only comes from being truly embedded in the Malaysian education landscape.

Kabilan himself brings exceptional depth of regional influence into this role. As the Honorary Counsul of the Republic of Seychelles in Malaysia, he has driven education pathways across Seychelles, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Through WM they have facilitated institutional linkages and student mobility initiatives built on genuine diplomatic relationships and years of regional trust.

With Winning Magnitude, students don’t just get placed to a university, they have a support system waiting for them in Malaysia.
